About Soliloquy and Capriccio

SOLILOQUY textiles . . . distinctive woven fabrics for interior furnishings, from subtle textures to rhythmic patterns.

CAPRICCIO prints . . . a division of Soliloquy featuring original printed designs, from hand silk-screened patterns on natural fibers to digital printing on synthetics.

Together, we find inspiration in the world around us, gathering elements from the natural landscape and urban environment to translate into fabric patterns.  A little vintage, a little modern, we blend sensibilities to create a look that is uniquely our own.  Styled for residential interiors, many of our fabrics meet commercial requirements too, making them as practical as they are beautiful.

We are committed to incorporating eco-friendly materials and production methods whenever possible, working closely with our industry partners to embrace progressive fabrics for a cleaner world.

Ruth Meijer designs fabric informed by her multi-faceted background in art history, interior design and weaving.  She founded Soliloquy textiles in 1995 as a hand-weaving studio, offering luxurious textures produced to order.  Through her work creating custom fabrics for numerous hospitality projects, the collection evolved into a more diverse group of jacquard patterns.  This evolution sparked an interest in printing . . . Ruth spent several years learning the fine points of executing print designs on fabric through digital and silk screen techniques to create different effects.  Ruth and her design team can now offer a full range of fabric styles and invite you to explore the results by viewing our collections!
